The Jurong Bird Park
aviary covers 49 acres. The park is the largest bird park in the world in terms of the number of birds and the second largest in the number of different species.
The birds are housed in seven different exhibits.
Southeast Asia Birds Aviary showcases over 200 species in large walk-in aviaries as well s smaller aviaries. At noon each day a thunderstorm is simulated followed by a light drizzle of rain.
Pelican Cove has an underwater viewing gallery, a world first. Here visitors can see the pelicans scoop up fish at feeding time.
Penguin Coast, with its five species of penguins, is designed to look like an old Portuguese galleon. Here the penguins live in an indoor climate controlled den with access to an outdoor enclosure for African penguins, which have adapted to the tropical climate in Singapore.
African Waterfall Aviary is the second largest walk-in aviary in the world which houses 600 free flying birds. The waterfall aviary has one of the largest man-made waterfalls in the world, 30 meters high!
Lory Loft is a 9 story high walk-in aviary for lories and lorikeets. Visitors can interact with the birds by offering them a special nectar mix.
World of Darkness is Asia's first nocturnal bird house. A lighting system converts day to night and visa versa so that 70 species of nocturnal birds like owls and night herons can be observed.
Dinosaur Descendants is an exhibit that showcases flightless birds such as ostriches, emus, cassowaries and rheas.
