The perfect time to buy that big screen TV you have been holding out for! In Singapore the standard voltage is 230V and the standard frequency is 50Hz. Small, less frequently appliances like mixers or food processors will probably be OK to use with a power converter but large appliances will have to be replaced.

Groceries & Household Items

A trip to the grocery store can be both fun and frustrating. Fun because you are likely to encounter many unfamiliar items and frustrating because some labels are written only is Japanese, Chinese or Korean!

My advice is try new things, some you will love and others you may say never again but that is part of immersing yourself in a new culture! Another thing to get used to is the fact that  most of the stores are smaller and may have less of a variety than you may be used to.
